there, thankyou for visiting easypostcard.com. Our aim is to bring email
postcards straight into your inbox. There are many postcard sites on the
net, millions in fact, and many of them are extremely impressive. They have
a large choice of cards, and they are good cards. The problem, though, is
that they require you to pick them up. You have to click on a link to go
to their site, enter a code, and pick up the card. All you get in your email
is a message, such as "Heather has sent you a card, you can pick it up from..."
That seems to take the pleasure out of them. Its like receiving a letter
in the mail, saying that you have a parcel waiting for you at the post office.

Software
|
The
software we use is a brilliant program called postcard-direct.
We are playing with it to meet our needs, but from the moment we got it,
it has satisfied all our needs. If you need to add postcards to your site,
we strongly recommend it.
There are problems in our method, though. Not all email clients act the
same. Whilst the software we are using can handle the different clients,
we aren't quite sure how to implement it. The person sending the postcard
could have the choice, but generally they wont know which one to choose.
Our current plan is to build up a database of which mail clients require
which method. If you can suggest any ideas, let us know. Also,
we need to know if you find any email systems that do not work for our cards.
Currently, we have identified excite and webmail.

The
Future
|
The
internet is wonderful, and we are proud to be a part of it. We are small,
but we have plans to grow. The main thing is that we provide a service,
rather than turn into a way of making money. Making the money should be
a bonus. (By the way, we haven't made any yet!)
In the future, we plan to add the ability for artists to add their own galleries.
We also will add co-branding, so we will host your sites postcards. That
is, of course, assuming the web doesn't radically change sometime soon...who
knows. |
